National Walk for Epilepsy 28 March 2009

If you like to do
walks for charity
why not do one for
The National Epilepsy Foundation?

When: 28 March 2009
Where: Check the Epilepsy Foundation website to find one near you.
The link is below

Epilepsy is a medical condition in which people have seizures.
There are different types of seizures
depending on which part of the brain
and how much of the brain is causing the seizure.

There are over 3 million people
in the United States
that have some type of epilepsy
and over 200,000 new cases
are diagnosed every year.

Some people with epilepsy have a genetic connection,
but many do not have any family history at all.

Some people can control the seizures with medication,
but there are always those people that medications can not work.

To find out more about

The PEACE Fund **Protect Educate Aid Children Everywhere** Merchandise Link Included

I know I should have posted this much much earlier so people could buy for Christmas. I am really sorry about that.

However, there are many other gift giving holidays coming up or buy for yourself or as a just because I love you or like you gift for someone else.

The PEACE Fund "Protect Educate Aid Children Everywhere" is a recognized charity started by the actor Adrian Paul. Its focus is to collect money through fundraisers, donations, auctions, and selling merchandise to help other underfunded, smaller and quite frankly children's charities that the main media does NOT cover.

They do not spend millions of dollars on television, print, radio or internet advertising. I think most can think of at least 2 or 3 big children's charities that do. Many people (like me) probably first heard about the charity by going to his website because they were either a fan of his or the television show "Highlander: the series".

I do not write much about charities, but this one definitely caught my eyes and I did more research on it. I do not have kids and do not plan on having them, but I have 7 great nieces and nephews along with my friends and neighbors kids. I have 1 nephew who has autism and 1 friend who's daughter was diagnosed with MS last year.

I unfortunately do not have the financial means (the store I currently work at is closing the end of January 2009) to donate or purchase merchandise, but I can at least help spread the word around.

So, please check out the website to learn more and perhaps to donate, buy something, or to find out how to volunteer.

Some of the items you can purchase are t-shirts, baseball hats, doggie shirts, tote bags, coffee mugs, note cards, mouse pad, and more.

BZZ Agent and the USO

I am an agent for
BZZ Agent/Frogpond
and one of their partners is the
USO
(United Services Organizations).
I think most people remember the legendary
Bob Hope
and his tours and television specials for the USO.
Wayne Newton
is currently the entertainer
that has given much of his time
and taken over where
Bob Hope
has left off.
Kid Rock
has also done many shows overseas
along with a very long list of other celebrities.
The USO
has been around for over 70 years
and has does so much more
than put on shows
for our troops stationed around the world.
They hand out prepaid phone cards,
send care packages,
help the families of the troops,
help the troops themselves
when they go off somewhere
and basically whenever
the troops need help and more.
The USO
is NOT
a government agency
even though many
(myself included)
thought it was.
They rely strictly on
donations
and
volunteers.
More than
89 cents
out of every
$1.00
goes directly
to helping a soldier.
There are not many
organizations
that can boast that!!!
If you have the financial means to contribute please do.
If you are able to volunteer please do.
If you can not do either one of those
for whatever reason
please spread the word.
If you are a
BZZAgent
you can post the
USO link
on
Facebook
and other places
and there is a
URL link
that will be special for you
for you to add to
blogs and your other sites.
If you are not a
BZZAgent
you can always sign up to become one.
You do
surveys,
post opinions,
sometimes receive free items to test
and spread the word about,
and occasionally with
more expensive newer items
you will be offered a
big discount off the retail price.
There are many options with
Frogpond.
If you are interested in learning more about the
USO
or
BZZ Agent/Frogpond
