I met Jamie and his family just a short while ago and so decided to attended this benefit. It was very touching to see how many people really came out to give their support. The silent auction had a huge selection of things to chose from including an autographed Reggie White jersey that Gilbert Brown made a bid of $1600 on. There were bracelets with Jamie's name and raffles tickets being sold as well. Leroy Butler and Gilbert Brown were both there to give their love and show support; signing autographs & selling Leroy's book...all proceeds going to Jamie's family. It's amazing to see how a community can come together in such a time of need. This benefit was thought out with true care and feeling and I am so happy I went.
Thank you very much for leaving a comment about how the benefit was. I am so glad it was touching. I was unable to attend, but I thought adding the blog might help. I never know if anyone really reads these or decide to help somehow. I am sure you probably already knew before the blog, but I am very grateful for the acknowledgement.
